By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

A new wind farm will be built in Turkey’s eastern Agri Province, the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources told Trend.

Land will be privatized in preparation for the construction in Agri Province.

"Afterwards, a tender will be announced for the construction of the İpektepe Rüzgar Enerji Santrali wind farm," the ministry said.

As previously reported, 10 wind farms will be built in five provinces of Turkey within 2 years.

Ex-Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Berat Albayrak stated earlier that Turkey plans to invest $1 billion in the development of renewable energy sources.

According to him, the construction of new power plants will increase Turkey’s energy security. The minister also believes that the new project on the development of renewable energy sources will provide jobs for about 3,750 people.
