New logistics center under construction in Turkey

Tatvan Rahova Logistics Center will be built in Turkey’s south-eastern Batman province, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

The logistics center will be constructed by Turkish National Railway Company.

"At present, the preparatory work is underway to hold a tender for the construction of a logistics center," the ministry said.

The tender, in which foreign companies may also take part, will be held in Turkey’s Ankara city on January 31, 2020.

"The total area of the office of Tatvan Rahova Logistics Center will reach 1,200 square meters," the ministry said.

The ministry has not specified the construction expenses.

Earlier, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend that projects on the creation of 12 logistics centers are being implemented in the country.

According to the ministry, eight logistics centers are being designed and the corresponding tenders are being held, while four logistics centers are being built.

Foreign contractors will be able to take part in the construction process.

In total, construction projects of 21 logistics centers in Turkey are planned to be implemented within the government’s 2023 Vision Plan. Nine logistics centers have already been commissioned.
