Data on cargo shipment from Lebanon via Turkish ports revealed

The volume of cargo movement from Lebanon via Turkish ports from January through April 2020 exceeded 1.2 million tons, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend on June 9.

In the reporting period, the volume of transshipment of cargo from Lebanon by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 184,093 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – slightly over 1 million tons.

Meanwhile, 39,688 tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the Lebanese flag.

In the first 4 months of 2020, 66,016 tons of cargo from Lebanon were transited through Turkish ports.

From January through April 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to more than 123.4 million tons.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag surpassed 9.6 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 4.9 million tons, while the cargo transshipment by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 108.8 million tons from January through April 2020.

Over the reporting period, over 24.9 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports amounted to more than 28.8 million tons in April 2020.

In the reporting month, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag made up 2.2 million tons, by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 979,880 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries stood at 25.6 million tons.

According to the ministry, 6.5 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through the ports of Turkey in April 2020.
