Volume of cargo shipment from Turkmenistan via Turkish ports revealed

The volume of cargo shipment from Turkmenistan via Turkish ports from January through May 2020 amounted to 119,652 tons, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

Over the reporting period, all the shipments from Turkmenistan though the ports of Turkey were carried out by ships flying the flags of other countries, the ministry noted.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transited from Turkmenistan via the Turkish ports made up 757 tons.

Transshipment of goods through the Turkish ports made up 151.4 million tons in the first five months of 2020.

During the reporting period, 11.9 million tons were handled by the ships flying the Turkish flag.

The volume of cargo transshipment via Turkish ports by ships flying their countries’ flags amounted to over 5.8 million tons, while the ships flying the flags of other countries moved 133.6 million tons from January through May 2020.

Meanwhile, 30.7 million tons of cargo were transited through Turkish ports, the ministry said.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the Turkish ports made up almost 28 million tons in May 2020.

In May 2020, the volume of cargo handled by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2.3 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags amounted to 940,716 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 24.7 million tons.

In May 2020, 5.7 tons of cargo were transported through the ports of Turkey.
