Iran's 2M2021 import of grains, legumes from Turkey surges

Trend:

The export of grain and legumes from Turkey to Iran increased by 1.5 times percent in the first 2 months of 2021, compared to the same period of 2020, amounting to $18.4 million, the Ministry of Trade of Turkey told Trend on Mar.29.

In February 2021, the export of grain and legumes from Turkey to Iran was 2.8 times more than in February 2020 and totaled over $35.1 million, said the ministry.

From January through February of this year, Turkey’s export of grain and legumes grew by 5.4 percent in annual terms, totaling $1.24 billion.

According to the ministry, Turkey exported $640-million worth of grain and legumes to international markets in February 2021, which is 8 percent more compared to the same month of 2020.

Over the past 12 months (from February 2020 through February 2021), Turkey’s exports of grain and legumes made up over $7.35 billion.
