2M2021 cargo movement data through Turkish Ambarli port revealed

The transshipment of goods in the Turkish port of Ambarli amounted to over 3.06 million tons from January through February 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

According to the ministry, ships flying the Turkish flag handled 444,047 tons of cargo, while ships flying the flags of other countries – 2.62 million tons.

In the first 2 months of 2021, the volume of the cargo movement in transit through the Ambarli port amounted to 1.58 million tons, the ministry said.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey exceeded 58.3 million tons in the first two months of 2021.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to over 4.7 million tons.

From January through February of this year, more than 53.5 million tons of cargo have been handled by ships flying the flags of other countries, added the ministry.

Meanwhile, 11.8 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

In February 2021, 29.6 million tons of cargo were handled through the ports, including 2.2 million tons by ships flying the Turkish flag, and more than 26.9 million tons by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Besides, more than 5.8 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through the ports of Turkey in the reporting month, added the ministry.
