Value of Iran's import of Turkish steel in 4M2021 grows

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 8

The value of steel exports from Turkey to Iran grew by 56.3 percent in the first 4 months of 2021 compared to the same period of 2020, making up over $16.2 million, the Ministry of Trade of Turkey told Trend.

In April 2021, Turkey’s steel exports to Iran surged by 143 percent compared to April 2020 and reached $4.3 million, said the ministry.

From January through April 2021, the value of steel exports from Turkey increased by 36.3 percent on annual basis, amounting to $5.46 billion.

Turkey exported steel worth over $1.67 billion in April 2021, an increase of 84.2 percent compared to the same month of 2020.

Over the past 12 months (from April 2020 through April 2021), Turkish exports of steel amounted to $14 billion.
