Cargo transportation volume through Ankara Esenboga airport down

Some 15,671 tons of cargo were transported through Ankara Esenboga Airport from January through April 2021, which is by 34 percent less compared to the same period of last year, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

During the reporting period, 12,686 tons of cargo were transported via domestic flights (decrease of 16 percent compared to the period from January through April 2020) while 2,985 tons of cargo via the international flights (decrease of 66 percent).

Passenger traffic at Esenboga Airport reached 1.5 million people, which is by 43 percent less than from January through April 2020.

At the same time, the passenger traffic via domestic flights reached 1.3 million people (decrease of 39 percent) while via international flights - 143,057 people (decrease of 65 percent).

According to the ministry, 15,341 flights were made from the airport, which is by 25 percent less than in the same period of last year.

At the same time, the number of domestic flights reached 13,277 (decrease of 19 percent) while international flights - 2,064 (decrease of 48 percent).

The passenger traffic at all airports in Turkey reached 23.8 million people while the volume of cargo transportation - 833,242 tons during the reporting period.
