The number of vehicles used in Turkey has increased 47.6 percent over May 2021, compared to May 2020, and amounted to 76,877, Trend reports with reference to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
During the reporting month, the share of cars in the total number of vehicles amounted to 49.9 percent, vans and trucks – 12.4 percent, motorcycles - 27.9 percent, tractors – 6.1 percent, and 3.7 percent accounted for other vehicles.
Turkey ranks sixth in Europe in car production. The country assembles cars of the Ford, FIAT, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and MAN brands.
Moreover, Turkey manufactures buses of BMC, Temsa, and Otokar brands.
