Turkey's leather exports to Uzbekistan surge in value for 8M2021

The value of export of leather goods from Turkey to Uzbekistan has surged in the first eight months of 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Trade told Trend on Sept.20.

According to the ministry, this figure amounted to over $5.9 million, up by 97.4 percent on annual basis.

In August 2021, Turkey exported leather goods worth nearly $1.1 million to Uzbekistan, which is an increase of 1.6 times year on year, the ministry said.

Turkey’s total export value of leather goods increased by 27.8 percent in the first eight months of this year compared to the same period of last year - up to $1.09 billion.

Turkey exported leather goods worth $157 million in the 8th month of 2021, which is 60.5 percent above the August 2020 level.

In the last 12 months (from August 2020 through August 2021), Turkey’s leather goods exports amounted to $1.57 billion.
