Turkey unveils data on cargo traffic via its ports from Spain

Turkish ports in 8M2021 handled 10.8 million tons of cargo from Spain, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

According to the ministry, at the same time, 1.3 million tons of cargo from Spain were delivered to ports by ships under the Turkish flag, and 9.4 million tons by ships under the flags of other countries.

During the reporting period, ships under the Spanish flag delivered 150,860 tons of cargo to Turkish ports.

Turkish ports handled over two million tons of transit cargo from Spain in August 2021.

The ports of Turkey in 8M2021 handled 253 million tons of cargo.

In addition, during this period, the volume of cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey amounted to 20 million tons.

Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkey by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 233 million tons.

Moreover, during the specified period, Turkish ports handled 50.2 million tons of transit cargo.

In August 2021, the ports of Turkey as a whole handled 34 million tons of cargo.

The ministry noted that in August 2021 the volume of cargo transportation by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.6 million tons, while by ships under the flags of other countries – 31.4 million tons.

Also, in August, Turkish ports handled 6.3 million tons of transit cargo.
