Türkiye sees decrease in apartments bought by foreigners

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 17. About 105,476 apartments in March 2023 were purchased in Türkiye, which is 21.4 percent less than in the reporting month of the preceding year, Turkish State Authority on Land Cadastre and Real Estate Purchase and Sale told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.

According to the information, some 283,215 apartments from January through March 2023 were purchased in the country. This was11.5 percent less than in the same period of 2022.

Moreover, about 3,415 apartments, in March of this year, were sold to foreign citizens in Türkiye, which is 38.7 percent less than in the accounting period of last year.

During the reporting period, foreigners purchased most properties in Türkiye's Antalya.

So, in the above city, the number of apartments sold to foreigners amounted to 1,324. In Istanbul this figure reached 1,090 apartments, while in Mersin this number accounted for 240 apartments.

Moreover, most of the foreign citizens who bought apartments in the country during this period were citizens of Russia (1,175 people), Iran (472 people), Iraq (165 people) and Ukraine (160 people).
