BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 12. The Turkish port of Ambarli, located in Istanbul, received 2.5 million tons of cargo from January through September 2023, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said, Trend reports.
The ministry's data show that 1.87 million tons of cargo were handled through the port of Ambarli by ships under the flag of Türkiye, and 12.8 million tons by ships under the flags of other countries.
"The Turkish port of Ambarli handled 7.36 million tons of transit cargo from January through July 2023," the ministry noted.
Turkish ports received 32.2 million tons of cargo in September 2023.
During this period, cargo traffic to domestic ports on ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.4 million tons.
Cargo transportation of ships under the flags of other countries to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 29.5 million tons.
Besides, in September 2023, 5.1 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye.
The ministry's data shows that Turkish ports received 292.6 million tons of cargo from January through September this year.
Cargo received by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 21.7 million tons from January through September 2023. Cargo transportation to Turkish ports by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 270.8 million tons.
In general, 51.7 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye from January through September 2023.
