�AGO’ AZERBAIJAN MONITORING GROUP PROGRAM TO BE INTENSIVE

The visit’s program of the Council of Europe (CE) Committee of Ministries monitoring group to Aserbaijan clarified. The group headed by the German diplomat Ronald Vegener will arrive in Baku from Erevan on 29 June, Trend was told at the office of the CE Secretary General’ special representative.

The goal of the visit is to study the internal political situation in Azerbaijan on the eve the parliamentary elections, as well as getting familiar with the state of affairs on fulfillment commitments, undertook by the country before the CE.

The working part of the visit will start on 30 June with holding bilateral meetings with leaders of NGOs. Meetings with leaders of the В"Yeni SiyasetВ" (“New Policy’) block, with the leader of the “In the name of Azerbaijan” foundation, Eldar Namazov, former Foreign Minister Tofik Zulfugarov, chairman of the Liberal Party of Azerbaijan, Lala-Shovket Hadjiyeva are supposed to be held in the first half of the day.

Meeting of envoys with leaders of the �Azadlig” (�Freedom”) block will follow after:
with deputy chairman PFPA (reformists) Fuad Mustafayev, leader of the Musavat Party, Isa Gambar and the first deputy of the Democratic Party, Sardar Djalalogli.

Immediately after the meeting’s completion meeting with the Azerbaijan’s Justice Minister, Fikret Mamedov and the chairman of the Central Election Committee of Azerbaijan, Mazahir Panahov will take place.

The second day of the visit will begin with attending of the refugees and IDPs residing places, as well as meetings with the leader of the Upper Karabakh Azerbaijani community, Nizami Bahmanov.

On the second half of the day the AGO group’s meeting with the Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev is scheduled. On the same day talks with the head of the President’s Administration office, Ramiz Mehtiyev and the Foreign Minister, Elmar Mamedyarov will be held. The visit will be finished by the closed meeting with the Azerbaijan’s parliamentarian delegation members to the PACE.

In the CE delegation, along with the AGO group members, three officials of the CE Secretariat will be involved.
