A tax amnesty will be held to pass on to the general income declaration in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Minister of Taxes Fazil Mammadov said at a briefing on Feb. 7 as part of the third tax forum entitled 'Azerbaijani tax system: Realities and Prospects' in Baku.
"Azerbaijan is to introduce a common tax return," he said. "This is a very big project and requires preparation of many procedures. In particular, one cannot pass on to the common income declaration without an amnesty system. Our country is post-Soviet. It will be necessary to hold an amnesty for the full legalisation of proceeds. Other operations will be performed and a decision will be made. Preparation is underway."
