By Elena Kosolapova - Trend: Inflation rate hit 5.4 percent in Kazakhstan in the first eight months of 2014, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to the Statistics Committee under Ministry of National Economy.
The prices and tariffs for consumer goods and services increased by 5.4 percent, for food products 5.3 percent, for non-food products 6.2 percent, and for paid services 4.7 percent since the beginning of the year.
The annual inflation rate (August 2014 compared to August 2013) reached 7.1 percent.
Food prices fell by 0.1 percent, non-food prices rose 1.1 percent, prices and tariffs for paid services increased 0.4 percent in August compared to July.
