The Turkish Air Force's fleet has 240 F-16 fighters and A-400M transport aircraft, Anadolu agency reported with reference to the Turkish Air Force March 12.
Currently, Turkey is upgrading a number of fighters. Besides F-16 fighters, the Turkish Air Force has 10 multi-purpose light fighters NF-5A 2000 and six similar aircraft NF-5B 2000,
as well as, 25 training aircraft, 20 Cougar helicopters and 11 - UH-1H aircraft.
Earlier it was reported that Turkey suspended the operation of F-4 "Phantom" fighters on March 12, 2015 after three crashes within the last two weeks.
Currently, the Turkish Air Force has 54 F-4 fighters.
The Turkish Air Force was founded in 1911, but virtually ceased to exist after the World War I.
The Turkish Air Force have been renewed since 1920.
By 1940, Turkey had the largest air force in the Middle East and the Balkans.
