Aktau International Sea Trade Port transshipped 2.86 million metric tons of oil cargo in January-August 2015 compared to 3.6 million metric tons in the same period of 2014, the port said Sept. 15.
The port transshipped more than 5.95 million metric tons of oil in 2014 compared to over 6.28 million metric tons in 2013.
Part of the oil transshipped through the Aktau port is transported to Baku from where it is delivered to the Black Sea ports of Georgia via the railway.
Metal items accounted for 791,000 metric tons of the total volume of dry cargo transshipped by the port (1.52 million metric tons) in January-August 2015, ferry cargo - 285,000 metric tons, grain - 211,000 metric tons, other cargo - 236,000 metric tons, the statement says.
The port transshipped more than 4.38 million metric tons of cargo in January-August.
The port transshipped 10.27 million metric tons in 2014 compared to 10.08 million metric tons in 2013.
