The output of gas condensates at Phase 12 of Iran's South Pars field has hit 17.278 million barrels, according to South Pars Gas Company CEO Masoud Hassani.

In the meantime, 15.318 billion cubic meters of gas was also produced, he said, SHANA news agency reported January 30.

Phase 12 was put on stream last March. South Pars, divided into 29 development phases, contains 40 trillion cubic meters (tcm) of natural gas.

Phase 12 produces 80 million cubic meters of gas per day.

It covers an area of 9,700 square kilometers, 3,700 square kilometers of which are in Iran's territorial waters in the Persian Gulf. The remaining 6,000 square kilometers are situated in Qatar's territorial waters.

Iran has exported 20.8 million metric tons of gas condensate during the 8th month of the current fiscal year (started March 21). The country's export decreased by 5 percent compared to the previous year.
