The Georgia-Arab airline Air Caucasus will start operating on the Georgian aviation market, director of bankrupt-hit Sky Georgia, George Kodua, who will be a consultant at the new company, told reporters on Thursday.

He said Georgian-Arab investments have been put into Air Caucasus and the Georgian side owns a majority ownership.

"The new airline will carry out regular flights to the CIS, European and Asian countries," Kodua underlined adding that from October 2012, the airline will also start Tbilisi-Kutaisi flights.

"Due to the fact that parliament moves to Kutaisi, the government members will often have to visit the west. Therefore, the company decided to carry out a daily flight from Tbilisi-Kutaisi within 12 months after Kopitnari Airport starts earning," he said.

A ticket will cost $25. However if there is demand, flights may be carried out in the future, but on different terms. In particular, 50 seats which will be booked in advance, will be cheaper and the remaining 50 seats will be sold at a standard price, Kodua underscored.
