Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan discussed the possibility of a project of joint building an oil refinery in the territory of Kyrgyzstan, the Kyrgyz government said on Friday.
The agreement on the construction of the oil refinery was reached on Jan.19 at a meeting of Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev and SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev. It is assumed that Kazakhstan will supply oil to the future refinery.
During the visit to Bishkek of the Azerbaijani delegation headed by the head of Azerenergy Etibar Pirverdiyev, the sides discussed implementation of joint investment projects in mining, energy, construction of fertilizers plant and creamery in Kyrgyzstan, the creation of the Azerbaijan Investment and Commercial Bank. The parties exchanged experiences in the creation of technology parks.
According to the report, the Azerbaijani side expressed interest in promoting the production of import-substituting products in Kyrgyzstan.
The Azerbaijani delegation included representatives of the Azerenergy, Azenco, Expressbank.
