By Elena Kosolapova - Trend: Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev held phone talks with his Finish, Russian and Belarusian counterparts on Aug. 18, the Kazakh presidency reported.
During the phone conversation with Finland's President Sauli Niinisto the current issues and prospects of bilateral cooperation were discussed.
The heads of Kazakhstan and Finland also exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine.
"The importance of stoppage of the bloodshed, especially among civilians, and the beginning of the negotiation process on the Ukrainian crisis was stressed," the press-service said.
The situation in Ukraine was also discussed within the talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia discussed the situation in the south-east of Ukraine and the possible ways out of the crisis in that country," the press-service said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev also discussed the issues of mutual interest with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
