Turkish president-elect Recep Tayyip Erdogan invited Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to attend celebrations dedicated to his inauguration, according to a message from the government of Turkmenistan.

The invitation message was handed over to the Turkmen president by the Turkish National Education Minister, Nabi Avci.

Erdogan's solemn inauguration ceremony will be held on August 28.

"Gratefully accepting the invitation, the president expressed confidence in further successful development of the Turkmen-Turkish cooperation in all areas," Turkmen government said in its message.

"In this context the nation's leader also highlighted with satisfaction the valuable contribution of Turkish business circles in strengthening our country's economic power."

The two parties also expressed confidence that the traditional relations of friendship and fruitful cooperation between the two fraternal countries and peoples will continue to develop dynamically, and acquire a new content.
