Iran, Azerbaijan trade turnover decreases by 9%

Trade turnover between Iran and Azerbaijan has surpassed $362.106 million during the first nine months of current Iranian fiscal year (March 21-Dec. 22, 2014), 9.08 percent less compared to the same months of the preceding year.

Iran has exported $347.171 million worth of goods to Azerbaijan during the period, which indicates a fall by 7.88 percent year on year, the Iranian Customs Administration said.

The Islamic Republic exported some 1.573 million metric tons of goods to Azerbaijan during that period which is 21.79 percent less compared the 9-month period of last year.

Iran also imported some $14.935 million worth of goods from Azerbaijan during the period, 20.54 percent less than the last fiscal year's first nine months (March 21 to Dec. 22, 2013).

Iran-Azerbaijan trade balance, stood at $332.235 million in the 9-month period, compared to $ 359 million in the same period of the preceding year.

The Islamic Republic has exported 70,674 metric tons of goods, worth $25.11 million to Azerbaijan during the 9th Iranian calendar month of Azar (Nov. 22-Dec. 22, 2014), which indicates a fall of 60.73 percent in terms of volume and a decline by 29.54 percent in terms of value respectively compared to the same period of last year.

Iran's trade balance with Azerbaijan stood at $450 million in the previous Iranian fiscal year, which ended on March 20, 2014.

Iran Customs administration reported that the country's exports to Azerbaijan surpassed $482 million, meanwhile Tehran imported $32 million worth of goods from Baku in the mentioned period.

Iran's non-oil foreign trade (including condensates) amounted to $73.6 billion in the first nine months of the current Iranian fiscal year.

Iran's non-oil exports accounted for $35.145 billion of the mentioned amount, while imports accounted for $38.462 billion.
