A two-day official visit of Turkmen President Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov to the UAE starts on Dec.9, a message from the Turkmen government said.

" At the end of the next high-level meeting, it is planned to sign a package of documents that will determine the key vectors of the further interactions of the two friendly states demonstrating the mutual desire to intensify fruitful, mutually beneficial cooperation and common constructive attitudes to the solution of topical modern problems," the Turkmen government said.

Today some 28 documents constitute the legal framework of the interstate cooperation. These documents regulate cooperation in political, economic and cultural spheres.

"The willingness of the two countries to seek new directions in trade and economic interaction was confirmed during the meeting between Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov and UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan who paid an official visit to Turkmenistan in February 2013, State News Agency Turkmen Dovlet khabarlary (TDH) said.

A trade turnover amounting to $423 million in 2012 provides proof the two countries are large trade and economic partners.

Over 50 enterprises with participation of UAE capital were registered in Turkmenistan as of January 1, 2013, according to the data provided by Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
