Govher Bayramova has been approved as the head of Turkmenistan's National Center of Trade Unions, according to the decree of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Previously, Bayramova was elected at the fifth extraordinary congress of Turkmenistan's trade unions. Maysa Yazmukhammedova, the previous head of the National Center of Trade Unions was appointed to the post of Deputy Prime Minister for Culture and Media.
Turkmenistan's trade unions, which bring together over 1,108,000 members, are the country's largest public organization.
They consist of 14 industrial, five provincial, 49 regional and nine urban associations as of 2013.
Trade unions carry out works on creating safe and optimal working conditions, improving the living conditions of workers and their families.
