Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb.10 / Trend D.Khatinoglu/
A group of people, who were said to be followers of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, threw shoes at parliament speaker Ali Larijani, while he was addressing a gathering on the occasion of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran.
The parliament speaker was forced to cut his speech and leave the place, according to ILNA.
The people, who amounted to 100, chanted slogans against Larijani and in favor of Ahmadinejad.
Under Larijani's chairmanship, parliament has been hostile to Ahmadinejad for most of his second four-year term and on Sunday it voted to dismiss Labor Minister Abdolreza Sheikholeslami over his decision to appoint Saeed Mortazavi, accused of links to the deaths of prisoners, to a new job.
Last week, Ahmadinejad played what he said was a recording of a conversation between Mortazavi and Fazel Larijani, the speaker's brother, that proved the family had used the prominence of the five Larijani brothers for economic gain.
But the recording was inaudible and Ahmadinejad read out what he said was a summary.
He went on to add that the Judiciary System of Iran is not to be run by a family, noting that such situation is not good for Iran or the Judiciary system itself.
Ali Larijani's another brother Sadegh Larijani serves as head of the Judiciary System.
