Azerbaijan, Baku, 6 August / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / In the first half-year of 2008, the Azerbaijani state budget revenue made up AZN 4,809.7mln AND this amount makes 26% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the Government said on 5 August. Incomes of the budget increased by 86.3% (AZN 2.582.3mln) as compared to the same period of 2007.
The budget revenues (60.5% or AZN 2.912mln) were ensured by the Taxes Ministry and the Ministry's forecast was carried out by 108%. Tax transfer to the state budget rose by 49.2% and revenue amounted to AZN 1.951.9mln in the first half-year of 2007.
The State Customs Committee implemented the forecast by 100.3%, transferring AZN 563.9mln (with 11.7% of specific weight at general budgetary income), which 53.8% exceeds assessments as compared to the same period of 2007.
Expenses rose by 79.2% as compared to the first half-year of 2007, amounting to AZN 4,094.6mln. The specific weight of expenditure in the GDP made up 22.1%.
Moreover, expenditure for social protection and provision increased by 26.3% to AZN 411.6mln, health - AZN 121.3mln (31.3%), education - AZN 383.9mln (27.9%), culture, art and physical culture - AZN 55.7mln (50.5%) and law enforcement and public prosecutor's bodies - AZN 186.4mln (24.2%).
The lump volume of investment in economy of the country at the expense of the state budget amounted to AZN 2.048.9mln, rising by 2.7 times. A total of AZN 1.781.6mln (with 2.8 times of rise) of them was directed to industry, construction and minerals, AZN 33.8mln (by 86.7%) to transport and communication, AZN 49.1mln (70.5%) to housing and communal services and AZN 80.4mln (26.4%) to agriculture, fishery, and protection of environment.
Within the first half-year of 2008, a total of AZN 994.5mln was spent to finance salary fund, which made up 24.3% of budgetary expenditure.
Surplus of the budget was AZN 715.1mln or 3.9% of the GDP.
The exchange rate for US dollar was AZN0.8096 on 5 August.
