Baku Telephone Communications has begun the installation of multimedia payphones in Baku, the ministry said on Monday.
The ministry noted that the location of the devices is presented to the Baku Executive Power. Work on installing the payphones will be completed by April 20.
Services through payphones will be carried out, using both coins and phone cards of operator.
The devices will provide all the necessary background information, the codes of cities and regions, as well as information on tariffs and services.
The number of installed multimedia payphones in the capital will be about 100, mostly near the venue of the Eurovision-2012 contest.
Universal payphones provide local, long distance and international calls at any time.
Access to services, emergency response and customer service telephone services are provided for free.
