BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. The number of visitors from Georgia in Azerbaijan amounted to 14,200 people in 1Q2022, which is 14.9 percent more than the same period in 2021 (12,400), Trend reports with reference to the State Border Service of Azerbaijan.
According to State Border Service, the share of visitors from Georgia in a total number of visitors to Azerbaijan in 1Q2022 amounted to 5.8 percent, while in the same period of 2021 it was 10.6 percent.
The number of visitors in Azerbaijan totally amounted to 246,200 people in 1Q2022, which is 2.1 times higher than the same period in 2021 (117,200 people).
According to the Georgian National Tourism Administration, the number of visitors from Azerbaijan to Georgia increased by 244.4 percent, in March 2022, compared to the same period in 2021 (4,200 people) - up to 14,500 people.
The number of visitors from Azerbaijan to Georgia decreased by 66.5 percent compared to the same month in 2020 (43,400 people) and by 87.6 percent compared to March 2019 (117,000 people).
Azerbaijan ranked fifth in the top 10 countries in terms of the number of visitors to Georgia in March 2022.
