BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 7. During talks in Baku between the Ministers of Economy of Azerbaijan and Russia, two major problems were singled out for early elaboration. The foremost one is the removal of barriers to the development of transport links and transport corridors between the two countries, the source in the government told Trend.
"The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia in 2023 amounted to about $4.5 billion (17 percent growth by 2022), but we need to solve several issues regarding the effective functioning of transport communication. There are some bottlenecks; they will be eliminated, which will allow us to increase trade turnover in 2024," the source noted.
According to him, representatives of the Russian Federation recognized the business environment in Azerbaijan as attractive. Entrepreneurs can take advantage of opportunities created in industrial zones, the Free Economic Zone Alat, and the territories liberated from occupation.
The source also added that there is a large potential for the development of partnerships with Russia in agriculture, customs, and other areas.
