Norwegian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Visited Village Bordering Armenia

Azerbaijan, Gazakh, 13 March /corr. Trend N.Fatullayev / Jon Ramberg, the Ambassador of Norway to Azerbaijan, visited the village of Tovuz - Azerbaijan's district, which is on the border with Armenia. The Ambassador visited in this territory in order to get familiarized with the situation that appeared in Tovuz district's Alibayli village.

Alibayli village is located 17km away from the border with Armenia.

As a result of arsons committed by the Armenians last week in the border villages of Tovuz, 100 ha of neutral area and 30 ha land belonging to the village burnt down, said the representative of Tovuz District Executive Power, Maherrem Gasimov. He stated that the residents became the witnesses of 10 mines that blew up as a result of the arsons.

The Armenians committed arsons in Tovuz's villages last year as well. Generally, more than 50 ha land is burn down in several villages of Tovuz.

After getting familiarized with these territories, the Ambassador told the journalists that they will hold investigation into the situation.
