Trend E.Mejidly / The Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Terry Davis, briefed the media that his organization wishes the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to be settled promptly. Highlighting his satisfaction with several progresses obtained in the negotiations process, the Council of Europe's Secretary General voiced his hope that the people who became internally displaced persons as a result of the military actions will return to their native lands in a short-time. Touching up on the two-day meetings of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Groups with the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia in the Council of Europe, Davis mentioned the necessity to continue the talks on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.
The Chairman of Council of Europe's Committee of Ministers, Foreign Minister of San-Marino, Fiorenso Stolfy, highlighted the importance to periodically clarify and discuss the ways of resolving the conflict. He stressed that the Council of Europe is closely interested in these issues and maintains the negotiations process on the focus of attention.
