OSCE Minsk Group’s US Co-Chairman: Fruitless Outcome of Minsk Group’s Longstanding Activities Would be Shameful (video)
Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr A. Ismayilova / It would be shameful if the longstanding activities of the OSCE Minsk Group turned out to be fruitless, the US Co-Chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group, Matthew Bryza, stated in Baku on 2 August.
The diplomat said that the parties have to achieve an agreement before the presidential elections of 2008 in Azerbaijan. Bryza again stated that settlement of the conflicts depended on the decisions of the two Presidents. Bryza added that the visits of the representatives of Azerbaijani and Armenian intelligentsia to Nagorno-Karabakh should periodically take place.
"A compromise can be achieved in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and we are approaching that. In order to achieve anything there is a price to be paid for it by the countries," Bryza noted.
