Azerbaijan, Baku, 1 August / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva/ A soldier killed an Azerbaijani praporshik (the youngest officer rank between sergant and lieutenant).
Ganja city's military prosecutor Namig Muradov said to Trend on 1 August that on 28 July a soldier of a Khanlar region military union Faig Sarkarov, 20, who was conscripted to military service by the Khachmaz Region Conscription Office, shot a 20-year-old praporshik Asif Tarlanov, conscripted by the Yardimli Region Conscription, from military unit's gun. Sarkarov was arrested and a criminal case was filed for him for contravening Article 120 (calculated homicide) of the Criminal Code.
Adhering to secrecy of investigation, prosecutor did not divulge the details of the incident. Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry denied the report.
