Flood, caused by heavy rains in the Hajigabul region of Azerbaijan (110 km from Baku) rendered the damage to the region center in the amount of one million manat.
"The natural disaster in the region seriously crippled 51 houses and 30 of them were the village of Nevahi. The total damage is estimated at one million manat," Chairman of the Hajigabul Region Emergency Situations Commission, Sahib Abbasov told Trend on Sept. 25.
He said 28 of 30 houses crippled in the village of Nevahi are not suitable for residence. "Now the Commission specifies the amount of damage to people affected by natural disasters. After that, they will be adequately compensated," said Abbasov.
Five tents were put up for the temporary residence of the people whose homes were unsuitable for residence, said the commission chairman. "Today it is expected to put up six more tents. There is no problem in supply of electricity, water and gas," he said.
On Sunday - Sept. 21, heavy rains in the Nevahi and Ranjbar villages destroyed more than 300 homes. Further, the natural disaster also seriously crippled the Neftchala and Shirvan regions.
The Emergency Situations Minister, Kamaladdin Heydarov, Interior Minister, Ramil Usubov, as well as President of Azerenergy Joint Stock Company (JSC), Etibar Piriverdiyev, have already visited the scene of the incident. The Emergency Situation Minister has tasked the staff to promptly remove the consequences of the disaster.
The disaster seriously damaged agriculture of these regions, especially livestock. About 70 percent of the Hajigabul region centre was flooded. About 300 meters of railway tracks have gone out of order.
