A forest is on fire on the Georgian border with Dagestan. According to the Kakheti Information Center, the forest caught fire at the Dagestani side in the Beshta region. Fire covered about 20 hectares.
According to the head of the administration of the Kvareli municipality Levan Gamsakhurdia, the local fire service is fully ready to operate if the fire spreads to the Georgian territory.
"According to border guards, the fire has not spread on our territory yet. If it happens, the fire service will immediately start its extinguishing," Gamsakhurdia said.
