Some 70 cars stolen in Baku this year

The Baku City Traffic Police recorded 128,246 traffic violations by May 15.

Some 1,529 violations registered from Jan.1 to May 15 this year were related to drunken driving, 2,615 to driving without a driver's license, and 214 to driving without a state license plate.

During this period, traffic police officers detained and administratively punished 919 drivers who created an emergency situation for other vehicles, 5,374 drivers, who passed red lights, 1,232 drivers, who exceeded the speed limit, 935 drivers who violated the rules of overtaking and maneuvering, 19,887 drivers who violated the rules of roundabouts, 1,091 drivers who violated the passenger transportation rules.

During the reporting period, 2,333 drivers driving a car with curtains and films on windows, 121 drivers, engaged in auto hooliganism were punished.

Some 602 pedestrians, who violated traffic rules, were brought to administrative responsibility.

During this period, there were 467 accidents in Baku, which killed 108 and injured 521 people. During the reporting period, 70 carjacking facts were recorded in Baku. Some 59 of the stolen cars were found, the search for the remaining cars continues.
