Azerbaijan , Baku, July 6 / Trend S.Agayev /

NATO forces are involved in the search for fragments of the Azerbaijani cargo plane that crashed in Afghanistan, as well as the dead bodies of the crew, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan and Afghanistan Dashgin Shikarov said referring to the Afghan Foreign
Ministry.

The Afghan Foreign Ministry reports that the plane crash happened in a flash as a result of its collision with some object, Shikarov told Trend. The pilot had no time to report the incident to dispatchers, he said.

He said citizens of Azerbaijan, Russia and Uzbekistan were on board the plane.

The search for the black boxes from the crashed Azerbaijani cargo plane has been complicated by the local terrain and weather conditions, Kabul Airport Flight Department Deputy Chief Jawad Vahabzade told Trend.

Nine crew members were on board a cargo aircraft IL-76 4K-AZ 55 of the Azerbaijani cargo airline Silk Way, which crashed at 2:10 am [Baku time] on Tuesday in the Afghan province of Parwan north of Kabul, the Azerbaijani Civil Aviation Administration told Trend earlier.

The Afghan Airspace Control Service reported that connection with the cargo plane Silk Way was lost at 00:10 (2:10 Baku time) on July 6 not far from Bagram airport, when the plane disappeared from radar. At the same time the dispatcher managing the aircraft notified that a flash occurred approximately 25 km from the Kabul airport at an altitude of 4 km.
