Man Pulled Alive From Collapsed Building in Baku (video)

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend I.Alizade / Worker Vugar Efendily was pulled alive from the 16-storey building which collapsed on 28 August in Baku in Mammad Nakchivani Street, a Trend Correspondent reported from the scene.

An ambulance took 30 year old Efendily to the hospital. Information on his condition is not known. He came to Baku from Azerbaijan's district of Astara.

On 28 August at around 5pm, the building constructed by the company 'Mutafakkir' collapsed. The company's head, Asker Aliyev, was arrested for contravening article 222 (breaking safety regulations during construction and other works) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

Today the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, arrived at the scene and presented relevant tasks to investigate the reasons for the collapse.

Rescue work is ongoing at the scene.
