Baku Checking Statements about Lezghins’ Territorial Claims for Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan, Baku, 15 May / Trend corr Babayev/ The administration of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia ha started checking the reports about statements regarding Lezghins' territorial claims for Azerbaijan made at the conference 'Caucasus Albania and Lezghin people' in Moscow.
"If any facts threatening Azerbaijan's territorial integrity are revealed, we will definitely take adequate steps," Khazar Ibrahim, Spokesperson for Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, said on 15 May.
Jointly organized by the Russian Academy of State Service under auspice of Russian President and Federal Lezghin National Cultural Autonomy of Russia, a symposium 'Caucasus Albania and Lezghin people: historical-cultural heritage and contemporary era' took place in Moscow on 14 May. Literature containing territorial claims of the Lezghins against Azerbaijan was disseminated in the event, which the Azerbaijani side refused to attend.
According to Ibrahim, Azerbaijan is ready to prevent any steps intended against its territorial integrity.
