Azerbaijani Opposition Presidential Candidate’s Observers Find out Some Violations in Voting Process
Azerbaijan, Baku. 15 October / Trend corr. A.Huseynbala / Observers of Gulamhuseyn Alibayli, an independent presidential candidate and a member of the Aydinlar Party Initiative Group, found out violations at some polling stations.
Thus, voter card is not required while giving ballot paper to voters at some polling stations, the candidate's election headquarters told Trend . Such violations were revealed at polling stations 3 and 4 of the Masalli Constituency Election Commission, polling stations 20 and 22 of the Astara Constituency Election Commission 77, polling stations 14 and 17 of the Shamkir Constituency Election Commission 98, polling stations 28, 30 and 33 of the Guba Constituency Election Commission 52, the polling stations 22 and 25 of the Gusar Constituency Election Commission 51, as well as polling stations 7 and 9 of the Agdash Constituency Election Commission 90.
Seven candidates are participating in the 15 October presidential elections, including Ilham Aliyev, chairman of ruling New Azerbaijan Party; Igbal Agazade, chairman of opposition Umid (Hope) Party; Fazil Gazanfaroglu, chairman of Great Establishment Party; Gudrat Hasanguliyev, chairman of Unified Popular Front Party; Hafiz Hajiyev, chairman of Muasir Musavat Party; Fuad Aliyev, chairman of Liberal Democrat Party and independent candidate Gulamhuseyn Alibayli.
The police prevented observers to enter polling stations 4 and 5 of the Binagadi Constituency Election Commission 9. Observers could follow the election process only after station chairmen's interference.
According to another data, the police excluded the Non-Government Organization (NGO) observers from the polling stations 15, 17 and 18 of the Agjabadi-Agdam Constituency Election Commission 83.
Observers were prevented from following the elections process at the polling stations 20 and 21 of the Balakan-Zagatala Constituency Election Commission 111 claiming that there were drawbacks in their documents.
Head of families sought to vote on the behalf of member of their families at some polling stations of Azizbayov District.
Afghan Asadov, Alibayli's lawyer, was excluded by pressures from polling station 5 of the Khatai Constituency Election Commission 35. Voters were taken by special buses to the polling station 35 of the Jabrayil-Gubadli Constituency Election Commission 120.
Participation of all candidates' representatives was not provided during conveyance of ballot boxes at the Lachin Constituency Election Commission 121.
