The sixth consultations on consular issues between the Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Turkey took place in Baku on May 25-26.
During the consultations were discussed the legal status of citizens of both countries living in Turkey and Azerbaijan, ways of solving problems, the deportation of citizens, visa problems, the issue of combating human trafficking, the Foreign Ministry said on May 26.
They also touched upon the legal regulation of the acquisition of real property by citizens of Azerbaijan in Turkey and the registration of citizens of Turkey in Azerbaijan.
The consultations were attended by the representatives of the Interior Ministry, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, border, immigration and customs services of both countries.
A protocol of intention was signed as a result of the meeting.
Recent consultations on consular issues between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Turkey were held in Ankara in 2006.
