U.S Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy, Richard Morningstar, and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, Elmar Mammadyarov, have considered the diversification of oil and gas transit from the region to European and world markets.
The meeting, which took place in Baku on Aug. 27, discussed the current state of Azerbaijani-US relations, energy cooperation and the perspective energy projects in the Caspian Sea.
On Aug. 27 in Baku, the U.S. Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy, Richard Morningstar, will participate in a debate on U.S. support for and cooperation with Azerbaijan in the development of diversified oil and gas routes from the region to European and global markets, the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan told Trend earlier.
During his one-day visit, Morningstar will meet with senior government and private sector representatives.
Morningstar visited Kazakhstan as part of his visit to the region.
In spring 2009, the U.S. Secretary of State appointed Morningstar Special Envoy for the Development of Energy Resources and their Transit.
