The Secretary-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Ed Kronenburg, will discuss cooperation prospects between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands in Baku in autumn.
The Secretary-General's visit has been preliminarily scheduled for mid-November, the First Secretary of the Azerbaijani Embassy to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Elchin Bashirov, told Trend on Oct. 8.
Kronenburg has planned to discuss different aspects of the cooperation development of the two countries in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres.
The Netherlands' Embassy in Baku is planned to be set up in October.
Soon, new Dutch Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Jan-Lucas van Horn will arrive in Baku to launch his activity, Bashirov said.
Earlier, Dutch Foreign Minister, Maxime Verhagen, made an address proposing to set up an embassy.
The embassy will serve the purposes of Dutch enterprises and deal with cooperation in the energy sector.
The Dutch ambassador will operate in close contact with other ambassadors of the EU countries in Baku, as well as with embassies in Tbilisi and Ankara.
The Azerbaijani Embassy in the Netherlands was set up in 2007. The current ambassador is Fuad Iskenderov.
The turnover between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands hit $17.8 million for January-April 2009.
