U.S. Special Envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke will arrive in Georgia Feb. 22, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze said at a traditional briefing today.
According to the official, the visit is important for the Georgian side.
"The visit is devoted to the Georgian military contingent's participation in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan," Kalandadze said.
In the spring, Georgia will send 700 military servicemen to Afghanistan under U.S. command. Already 175 Georgian troops are serving in the French zone of responsibility.
