The Azerbaijani Press Council will hold a series of training sessions for the press together with the Prosecutor General's Office.

Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov and Press Council Chairman Aflatun Amashov announced the training at a meeting today.

The training will be held at the Prosecutor General's Office's Scientific and Educational Center. It aims to help the press provide objective, timely coverage to combat crime.

At the meeting, the sides also decided to publish a collection of laws and normative acts regulating media activity, as well as to prepare a new edition of the book, "Legal Terms for Journalists."

Amashov said the council has blacklisted 103 newspapers and magazines throughout its history. The council decided to remove 26 from the list at a board meeting July 6.
