The Turkish Parliamentary Foreign Relations Commission has developed a bill to approve the Azerbaijan-Turkey treaty on strategic partnership and mutual assistance dated Aug.16, 2010. The Azerbaijani Parliament ratified the document on Dec. 22, 2010, the Milliyet newspaper reported.

The Parliament received the bill on ratification of the treaty on Dec.8 and the Commission launched the consideration on it on Dec. 24, 2010.

The parliament told Trend earlier that first the document should pass consideration at the Foreign Relations Commission and following this the bill on ratification of the treaty will be submitted to the General Assembly of the Turkish Parliament. Then it must be ratified by the President.

"The laws related to Azerbaijan are being developed in the parliament quite easy, as MPs do not have disagreements on this issue. This agreement will come into force within a month following its passage through the Foreign Relations Commission," the parliament said.
