Azerbaijan, Baku, 3 April / Trend M.Aliyev /

In some countries, where they speak about democracy, free and peaceful demonstration are shot, member of Azerbaijani delegation Azay Guliyev said during a discussion of an issue of development of civil society at the plenary session of the second session of the Euronest PA.

He said that a member of the Armenian delegation in Euronest PA, Styopa Safarian, voiced unfounded arguments directed to the government of Azerbaijan in connection with the human rights situation.

"I would like to bring to his attention that judgments voiced in his speech, are absolutely unfounded. There are countries which, speaking of the existence of democracy, sometimes shot people, holding free and peaceful protest actions," he added.

He said that anyone can express his position, but all people must comply with ethical standards.

The second session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly opened in Baku on Monday.

Meetings of standing committees, working group on Belarus, as well as plenary session are being held at the session.

Documents prepared by committees, together with supplements and amendments to them, to be adopted as a resolution are discussed.

The EU delegation, national delegations of Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova and Armenia attend the Baku session.

Euronest inter-parliamentary union includes Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
