Opposition rally, held on April 8, failed, a deputy chairman of the New Azerbaijan party (NAP) believes.
"If you compare the number of participants in the rally with a number of parties, which organized the rally, it becomes clear that each party was able to bring to the rally on average no more than 20 - 30 people. People did not support the rally, which was organized by the majority of opposition parties comprising the so-called Public Chamber. This fact is nothing more than another failure of rally tactics and rally sentiment of opposition," NAP Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary Ali Ahmedov said in an interview with NAP official website on Tuesday.
This event is an expression of absolute indifference of the citizens of Azerbaijan to the opposition and its rally, said Ahmedov.
He reminded that the Azerbaijani society over the years has repeatedly said that does not support the opposition, which was clearly demonstrated this time.
"How else should the Azerbaijani society, citizens show reluctance to support the opposition, a lack of faith? Processes show that if after this the opposition again wants to hold a rally, the result will not differ, but instead will be even more frustrating for them," said the deputy chairman of NAP.
Azerbaijani citizens are satisfied with their lives, Ahmedov said. In his view, people see the benefit of the changes occurring in the life of the country, its economy.
"It's not just words, the results of development are reflected in the life of every citizen. Naturally, in contrast, opposition can not offer anything that would attract the attention of Azerbaijani citizens. Why people do not follow, and won't follow the opposition. In any case, today's opposition is not able to carry out a more or less important political process. Opposition does not want to understand that it is obsolete, that within it there is a lot of controversy. Support to such opposition by Azerbaijani society is impossible," said deputy chairman of the NAP.
